Aside from the obvious benefit of free beer and free food, User Groups are a great way to get in touch with other Atlassian users and meet up with Atlassian staff and Experts. Last Monday, Valiantys sponsored the first meetup of the London Atlassian User group in 2013 which turned out to be a real success: 65 attendees! If you missed it,we have you covered here:
- Atlassian News and Updates by David Bonilla [Atlassian]. David showed us the new features coming up in JIRA 6 and Confluence 5 (to be released in Q2), as well as the exciting Viewport Project.
- 5 Tips to make JIRA admins’ life easier by Nathan Chantrenne [Valiantys]. I gave some ti[s that admins can easily apply in order to save some time (and some pain!). You can see the slides here.
- Using Confluence as an awesome glossary by Charles Hall [OpenBet]. Charles showed us a live demo of how he built a very clever glossary in Confluence using plenty of plugins and live templates. The whole story is also published on the Atlassian blog in 3 parts: part one and part two (part 3 isn’t released yet).
- The Knowledge ticket by Colm Byrne [Wonga.com]. The presentation covers some important concepts around knowledge management (or lack of it) in Agile organisations and its risks. Take a look at the slides there.
If you are a bit far from London, there may be another user group closer to you that you can take part in! For more info, look here.
We hope to see you at the next Atlassian User Group meetup!
